Qeshm Adventure
Exploring Iran’s Island of Seven Wonders

Introduction

Discover Iran’s Hidden Gem in the Persian Gulf, Qeshm Island.

Iran’s Island of Seven Wonders

Qeshm Island is a remarkable destination in southern Iran, in Hormozgan province. Known as a paradise for nature lovers, Qeshm is home to unique valleys, caves, and pristine beaches, earning it the Island of Seven Wonders title.

The island is also home to the Qeshm Global Geopark, the first of its kind in the Middle East to be recognized by UNESCO. The geopark showcases the island’s stunning geological diversity and commitment to preserving the natural environment.

Another cultural treasure of the region is the centuries-old craftsmanship of building and sailing Iranian Lenj boats, which was inscribed on the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage list in 2011. To see these traditional boats being crafted, a visit to Laft Village is a must. Here, this ancient skill is passed down from generation to generation, keeping the tradition alive.

The culture of southern Iran, especially on Qeshm Island, is distinct from other parts of the country. One of the first things visitors notice is the traditional women’s clothing. Many women on the island wear a unique style of niqab, which has historical roots rather than religious significance.

Due to the island’s warm climate, the best time to visit Qeshm is during autumn and winter, when the weather is more pleasant. However, if you don’t mind the heat, the warmer months are also a great time to explore the island’s beauty.

For travelers looking to experience Persian culture without the hassle of visas, Qeshm Island is the perfect destination. Visitors can easily enter the island without a visa and enjoy the warm hospitality and rich heritage of the local people.
