Stunning Road Trip In Iran

Introduction

When we choose a destination for our trip, we are looking for the attractions of the destination and in most cases; we forget that some routes on the trip are more attractive than the destination. One of the most attractive benefits of road trips is watching the beautiful scenery around the road. Many travelers take longer trips to enjoy the beautiful roads of Iran.
When we talk about the most beautiful roads in Iran, the first road that comes to most people’s minds is Chalus Road. On this road, you will see amazing beauties that do not exist anywhere. A winding road that has lush forests that will amaze you so much that you can’t take your eyes off it. Don’t forget the camera! Every part of this road can record memorable memories for you.
In this itinerary, we start our trip from Tehran to Mashhad and then continue to the north of Iran.

Travel Itinerary

Day 1: Tehran

Arrive in Tehran. Based on you arrival time, you will have a light tour of Tehran. Overnight Tehran

Day 2: Tehran –Shahrud

On this day, after breakfast, we start the road trip toward Shahroud, it’s about 5 hours driving. We suggest you eat your lunch at one of Damghan’s restaurants along the way. Among the famous restaurants of Damghan, we can mention Zeytun (Olive), Arakhan, Baba heidar, Qajar.
Shahroud is one of the beautiful cities of Semnan province, which includes desert, mountains, waterfalls, rivers, springs and lush forests. Besides, Shahroud has many historical monuments, religious buildings, and old mosques and is called the city of mystics. Therefore, during your stay in Shahroud, you can visit the Yaghmaei House, Shahroud Museum, Tomb of Sheykh Abolhasan Kharghani, Shahroud Historical Bazaar. If you have more time or if you love nature, you can visit the most famous sights of this part of Semnan province such as clouds forest, Haft-Rang (Seven Colors) Spring, Khar Turan National Park, Ghale Bala Village, Park Abshar. Day 3: Shahrud-Neyshabur

After breakfast, we will drive to Neyshabur (It’s about 4 hours driving). Among the sights of Neishabour, we can mention the Tomb of Attar Neyshaburi, the tomb of Hakim Omar Khayyam (Persian poet and astronomer) and the saffron fields of Neyshabour. Overnight Neyshabur

Day 4: Neyshabur-Mashhad

In the morning after eating your breakfast, we will drive to Mashhad. The first place we visit is the Imam Reza Shrine. After that, you can visit the affiliated complexes of the Razavi shrine, such as the Astan Quds Razavi Central Museum and the Imam Reza Bazaar. For lunch, we suggest you go to the Kooh Sangi Park which is one of the most beautiful spots in Mashhad. In the evening, if you are not tired, you can visit some attractions such as the tomb of Nader Shah Afshar (Naderi Garden), Vakil Abad Park (Vakil Abad Garden), and the Botanical Garden. Overnight Mashhad

Day 5: Mashhad

On the second day of our stay in Mashhad, we will visit the Tomb of Hakim Abolghasem Ferdowsi, He is a valuable and famous poet of Iran, and his literary masterpiece is Shahnameh. His tomb is located in a large garden in the Toos. Overnight Mashhad

Day 6: Mashhad-Bojnurd

We leave Mashhad and drive toward Bojnurd. It’s about 4 hours driving. Bojnourd has many tourist attractions. After lunch, we will visit Mofakham Mansion, Sardar Mofakham Mirror House and Jajarmi Hosseinieh. If you have more time to stay in Bojnourd, you can visit other attractions of this city such as: Baba Aman park, Ali Abad Garden, Shirin Dareh reservoir dam, Darreh Bagh and Bank Melli house.

Day 7: Bojnurd- Gorgan-Bandar Torkaman

Early in the morning, we will head to the Bandar Torkaman and along the way, we will stop in Gorgan to visit the Gorgan Palace Museum. This palace belongs to the first Pahlavi period, which has been turned into the Gorgan Museum Palace after restoration. Then continue our way. We recommend you to eat Chegdermeh or Chekdermeh (Turkmen traditional food) is cooked with rice, meat, tomato and onions with oil, water and add-ons such as salt and pepper. Overnight Bandar Torkaman

Day 8: Bandar Torkaman-Chalus

After a light tour in the city and seeing the Monday Market, we drive to Chalous. Overnight Chalus

Day 9: Chalus

On this day you will go to visit one of the Chai Khoran Palace, one of the Chalus attractions. It was built during the reign of Reza Shah Pahlavi, then we will go to Namak Abrud, (a tourist village, located in Mazandaran province) Namak Abrood is the boundary between the sea and the mountains, covered with dense forests and green vegetation. The indescribable beauty of Namak Abrud attracts many tourists in all seasons. In addition to enjoying the natural beauty, you can enjoy Tourist facilities such as Telecabine, sleigh rides, karting, and paintball. There are also several restaurants, Caffe and malls.

Day 10: Chalus-Tehran

After eating your breakfast drive to Tehran. I recommend you t have a short stop on Kandowan. One of the most enjoyable and popular dishes on the way to Chalous Road is eating a bowl of hot and tasty soup or Ash. There are several shops on this route, but without a doubt, the most famous of them is the Kandovan Ashkadeh, which is located just before the Kandovan tunnel. Overnight Tehran

Day 11: Tehran

Full day tour of Tehran to visit Golestan Palace and Grand Bazaar. We recommend you to eat your lunch in Moslem Restaurant. Overnight Tehran
