Rayen Citadel

The Rayen Citadel dates back to the Sassanid period. The entire building is made of clay, and it is the second brick building after Bam citadel and in terms of appearance and materials, these two citadels are the same. The castle has a pleasant climate because it is located on a slope with an altitude of 2200 meters.

The Rayen Citadel is almost square and is surrounded by several towers. The wall that has been built around the Rayen Citadel is more than 10 meters high and the only entrance to the citadel is from its eastern part. The citadel is designed to make it almost impossible for enemies to enter the citadel.

Shazdeh Garden

The Prince Garden is two kilometers from Mahan. This garden belongs to the Qajar period. Prince Garden is one of the six UNESCO-registered Iranian gardens. One of the most important attractions of this garden is the presence of streams and towering trees that have created a beautiful contrast in the middle of the desert. You may be interested in how this development is possible in the heart of the desert? The water that flows in this garden is supplied from the aqueduct and the Tigran River, which originates from the snow of the heights of Mount Jopar. Also, the steep slope of the ground causes water to flow in a stream from top to bottom in the prince’s garden. This water not only irrigates the prince’s garden but also reaches the village of Tigran.

The amazing plan of Shazdeh Garden, the architecture of the pavilion, and interior decoration all show Iranian culture and lifestyles.

Moayedi Yakhdan (Moayedi Ice-House)

The biggest Icehouse in Kerman is called Moayedi. In the past, the use of the refrigerator was to store ice for the people of the city during the summer. The tip of this conical structure was made in such a way that it absorbs the least amount of sunlight, and high walls were built around this cone, which significantly reduced the air temperature by the wind and the use of shadows. ; The plan of the tank is a circle on which a dome has been built. Its fence is relatively high and 12 meters high. The building materials are clay and mud mortar.
